The story behind Our Team in Training adventure

It's crazy how things come together in your life....
1) We lost Pops to Lymphoma in Feb. of 2009, We both were thrown into being adults... Pops lived with us and was the man of the house.... He was our best friend... He was our partner.....
2) Me and Heather were crazy out of shape... I (Mike) felt like I was going to die. I'm 5'8" and weighed 332 lbs... I know crazy.... Heather weighed in at 230 lbs. but she still was hot...
3) We own Loard's ice Cream in Brentwood. We were catering an event in town and some weight loss challenge was announcing the winners from a contest. This sparked our attention ... and We joined the next Challenge.
4) Our store is in the same complex with Brentwood Bike Co.
5) Nicole our Herbalife rep. and weightloss challenge coach worked her magic on us and we lost 167 lbs toghether
6) We bought bikes from Brentwood Bike co. and started riding with their group rides. and started hearing members talking about century rides.
7) when I was listening to the radio I kept hearing commercials about this Team in Training .. and how they will train you to be an endurance athlete and be able to complete a century ride.
this got my attention. so we went to a meeting.....
8) during this meeting we learned that team in training raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.... Omg it all came together for us Pops Lymphoma Bikes Century Ride
Sure I could train for a century ride on our own or with the club... but I can't even explain how passionate we are about this cause....We are riding for Pops... we try to keep things in balance with our training but it's hard... this seems like the most important thing we have ever done...
and our Family and friends are being so supportive ... we couldn't do it without their help....
we are spending so much time in the saddle.... putting in so many miles..... we don't only want to finish this century ride... but we want to finish it strong..... we want to make pops proud.....
9) we are making some great friends during this Team in Training Adventure... what a great goup of people.....

we are ordinary people trying to do something extraordinary for someone who just wants to be ordinary
